I started teaching private students at the age of 16. I've developed a great passion for sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for music with students of all ages and from around the globe, as a teaching artist, privately at my studio and of course online via

Skype, Facetime, Google-Hang-Out, Whatsapp.

If you are interested in studying with me, please send an email  to

I enjoy applying and developing my teaching skills and concepts gained during graduate studies "Master of Arts" in jazz performance from Hochschule for Music&Dance, Cologne, Germany and Queens College/City University of New York, and over 20 years of experience helping students with

  • drum set and rhythmic education in all styles, sight reading, chart interpretation, repertoire building, and band coaching;

  • awareness of motion and sound, body language, breathing and focus, stage presence and teamwork;

  • composition/arrangement as well as song and lyrics writing;

I recommend this incredible metronome app for iPhone/iPad & Android called TIME GURU by my friend and colleague, guitarist extraordinaire Avi Bortnick. Amongst many languages, it also features my voice for the German voice count. It's fun, incredibly straight forward, helpful and unique. I use it a lot.
